A Universidade Católica de Brasília é a única universidade particular do Distrito Federal, a melhor do Centro Oeste, a 4ª do país e a 8ª melhor da América Latina. Criada em 1974, a Faculdade Católica de Ciências Humanas (FCCH) foi a primeira unidade de ensino a oferecer três cursos: Economia, Administração e Pedagogia. Com o passar dos anos, a Faculdade organizou-se em uma estrutura de ensino e valores, cuja base se tornava cada vez mais sólida, o que possibilitou a instalação das Faculdades Integradas da Católica de Brasília (FICB). Quinze anos mais tarde, a Católica foi reconhecida pelo Ministério da Educação como universidade, mantendo em sua essência a promoção do conhecimento, sem se descuidar da espiritualidade baseada na ética cristã. Hoje, conhecida carinhosamente por Católica ou apenas UCB, a Universidade Católica de Brasília oferece mais de 58 cursos de graduação presenciais e na modalidade a distância (EAD), 9 cursos de mestrado, 6 de doutorado e 11 cursos de pós-graduação. Com recursos próprios ou de financiadores externos, tem mais de 100 projetos de pesquisa envolvendo alunos da graduação e pós-graduação e mais de 50 projetos de extensão.
